Fost/Adopt regulations on number of childrenFebruary 22, 2012, 6:33 pm Hi...I think the 6 child limit is correct here in California. The best thing to do would be to contact your local office and ask. Try the FFA's also. Good Luck! Child not wanting to go home?February 22, 2012, 6:07 pm What the child wants has no effect on the case plan at all. They can't even really refuse visits at this age. They will state the child is too young to make that determination that would be a lifelong change and she wouldn't understand the ramifications. Also, they would most likely think the child... Question for those ultra savvy FB folks.February 22, 2012, 6:03 pm My account shows all that information (texts to and from, but not content) and web sites accessed. So I assume that it could be accessed ... but? Not 100% sure. Frustrated-Why Don't People CareFebruary 22, 2012, 6:01 pm I agree with the above poster to a point. My current CW was the same way, conned me into supervising biofamily visits on my own (stated that they are having all FP do that now, and are transitioning away from visitation center!NOT!!!)
However, I had an amazing CW who came out on her day off, to... Um...alleged father disappeared? Now what?February 22, 2012, 6:01 pm Our youngest had an alleged dad. He was a minor and his family refused to allow him to be tested or to cooperate in any way. They TPR'd him and any unknown father. They listed him by name and added any possible/unknown fathers in the publication. That is pretty standard around here for fathers that... When do you ask for a special board rate?February 22, 2012, 5:26 pm Special rates are not for kids with ordinary illness's that I'm aware of. I would think major illness or something like down syndrome or CP or the like.
Also kids with behaviors and who take behavioral meds would be considered. Incarcerated Parents and RUFebruary 22, 2012, 4:59 pm I have had two such placements. As long as the parent is out and making any reasonable effort such as showing up for some of the visit, they usually will keep the goal as RU. In one of our cases after the parent was released from 7 months of jail, they just had to do the program for a month and the... AutismFebruary 22, 2012, 3:30 pm Quote:

Children talking about abuseFebruary 22, 2012, 2:46 pm We had an emergency placement of a set of three siblings and the four year old would spout information. His eight year old sister would tell me "he likes to tell stories" or "that one is true" depending on what he was saying.
I think I probably drove the CW insane with my... New placement coming tomorrow!February 22, 2012, 2:31 pm How exciting! You can do it. My first "bounce back"February 22, 2012, 1:04 pm I think this is one of the most frustrating things about the foster care system. Why, when they know that the children are going to end up right back in foster care, do they send them home??? We did not get our FD back, she went to grandma instead but when SW told us she would be going back to... Tax ThoughtsFebruary 22, 2012, 12:55 pm Lifechanges I didn't read your original post closely. Sorry I didn't realize this is your nephew. As a foster parent you wouldn't be able to claim him as a qualifying dependent because the date of official placement would be the deciding factor on the "6 month rule", but you may be able... Starting to waitFebruary 22, 2012, 12:55 pm Fruitoftheheart, we recently began looking into different agencies. There aren't any located where we live, but from what I can tell several agencies still work with families in different areas(???). I think that an agency would be a better fit for our family ... at least from what I can tell by... |
